Refund Policy

Effective date: 10 July 2026 Last updated: 10 July 2026

Short version: DataDrop charges only for storage you actually used — never a cent more than what the meter recorded. Because you can delete files at any second to stop billing, we do not issue refunds for completed billing periods. No credit card is required during the 15-day trial.

1. How Billing Works

DataDrop uses byte-second billing. You are charged for the amount of data you store multiplied by the duration it is stored. Billing is calculated in real time and totalled at the end of each calendar month.

Key facts about billing:

Because you have real-time control over what you store, we consider billing fair and accurate at the time of collection.

2. Free Trial

New DataDrop accounts receive a 15-day free trial with 5 GB of storage. No credit card or UPI AutoPay setup is required during the trial. You will never be charged for storage used during the trial period.

The trial starts the moment you create your account and ends exactly 15 days later, regardless of whether you have used the storage. Trial days cannot be paused, extended, or transferred.

When the trial ends:

3. Refund Policy

DataDrop does not issue refunds for completed billing periods.

The reason is straightforward: you control your storage in real time. You can delete any file at any moment to stop billing. You set a spending limit that caps your maximum liability. Because these controls give you precise authority over your costs, we treat completed charges as accurate and final.

However, we will issue a full refund in the following circumstances:

Refunds, where applicable, are processed back to your original UPI payment method within 7–10 business days.

4. Payment Failure

If your UPI AutoPay collection fails at the end of a billing period:

To restore full access, resolve the outstanding balance from your account settings. Once payment is collected, your account is restored immediately.

5. Non-Payment Timeline

If payment is not resolved after the initial failure, the following timeline applies:

D1
Day 1 — Payment fails
Account moves to read-only. Email sent. Files preserved. Download access maintained.
7
Day 7 — First reminder
Email reminder sent with payment instructions. Files still preserved and downloadable.
21
Day 21 — Second reminder
Second email reminder. Warning that files will be deleted at day 35.
30
Day 30 — Final notice
Final email warning. 5 days remaining before permanent deletion. Download your files now.
35
Day 35 — Permanent deletion
All files, Vault contents, and account data are permanently and irreversibly deleted. This cannot be undone.

DataDrop will make reasonable efforts to send notifications at each stage. However, delivery of emails is not guaranteed. You are responsible for monitoring your account status and ensuring payment is resolved before day 35.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your DataDrop account at any time from your account settings. There are no cancellation fees and no minimum commitment period.

When you delete your account:

Account deletion is irreversible. We cannot recover your files after deletion is complete. If you have files in your Vault and have forgotten your PIN, they will be unrecoverable — we cannot decrypt them.

7. Disputes

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, contact us within 60 days of the charge at datadrop.contact@gmail.com with:
