One product. Three storage types.
Each serves a different purpose. You get all three on every plan.
Upload, organise, and share your files. Version history, folder structure, and granular sharing controls — shareable with anyone who has a DataDrop account.
ShareableYour private space. Files are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers. Only your PIN unlocks the decryption keys. We cannot see inside.
Private onlyEncrypted shared storage for teams and collaborators. Only invited members can access files. Each member holds their own encryption key.
Team-onlyWhy pay for storage you don't use?
Traditional plans force you to buy in fixed blocks. DataDrop charges for exactly what you store.
The more you store,
the less per GB.
No plans. No bundles. Tiers apply automatically. Downloads and sharing are always free.
Minimum ₹1 when any file is stored ·
All features at every tier
Billed by the second. Delete a file — billing stops immediately.
Estimate your cost
Move the slider to see your monthly bill.
No surprise bills. Ever.
Set a monthly limit. Use storage up to that amount. At month end, only what you actually used is deducted via UPI auto-pay — never more than your limit.
Set your monthly limit
Choose a max spend — ₹149, ₹499, or any amount. You can only use storage up to that limit. No overages possible.
Storage billed by the second
Every byte stored is tracked in real time. Delete a file at any point in the month — billing stops that instant.
Auto-deducted via UPI
At month end, exactly what you used is collected via UPI auto-pay — never more than your set limit.
Built secure from day one.
Not bolted on after. Every architectural decision starts with security.
Your Vault is private.
We cannot read it.
Files placed in your Vault are encrypted on your device before they leave it. Only your PIN can unlock the decryption keys. Our servers receive and store only ciphertext.
The encryption keys exist only on your device. If you forget your PIN, a recovery phrase is the only way to restore access — we have no backdoor.
Technical details
Vault uses ECDH P-256 key exchange to derive a unique per-file data encryption key (DEK). Each DEK is wrapped with the user's public key and stored in our database alongside the encrypted file. The user's private key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from their PIN via PBKDF2. We store only the encrypted private key — we cannot derive the PIN or access the plaintext private key.
No public links.
No guessable URLs.
Files can only be accessed by people you explicitly invite — by email or username. There are no publicly accessible share URLs of any kind.
Sharing is intentional and revocable. You can set view limits, expiry dates, or require recipients to confirm receipt before the file is deleted.
Technical details
Every file request is authenticated against a Clerk-issued JWT. The download worker checks file ownership, active team membership, or an explicit share record before serving any bytes. Share records reference the recipient's verified account ID — not a URL token that could be guessed or scraped. Files are identified by opaque random IDs, not filenames or paths.
Sharing that fits your intent.
Different storage types serve different purposes. Here's how sharing works across each one.
Your everyday cloud storage. Share by email or username, set expiry dates, limit views, or require confirmed receipt before auto-deleting.
Shareable- Share by email or username
- Expiring links — by date or view count
- Revoke access anytime
- Download permission control
Your private space. Vault files are encrypted with keys only you hold. Sharing is not possible — by design. The Vault is yours alone.
Private only- Zero-knowledge encryption
- Client-side only — server sees ciphertext
- PIN-protected access
- Recovery phrase backup
Encrypted shared storage for teams and clients. Every member has their own encrypted key. Files are accessible only to invited members.
Team members only- End-to-end encrypted collaboration
- Role-based access (read, upload, full, admin)
- Per-member encryption keys
- Free on every plan
Common questions.
Why DataDrop instead of Google Drive or Dropbox?
Google Drive and Dropbox charge you for a fixed block of storage — 100 GB or 2 TB — whether you use it or not. If you store 22 GB, you still pay for the full tier.
DataDrop charges only for what you store, measured by the second. No fixed plans, no wasted spend. It also adds a zero-knowledge Vault and encrypted Workspaces that competitors don't offer at any price tier.
How exactly is billing calculated?
Billing is byte-second: we track how many bytes you store and for how long, then multiply by the per-GB-month rate at the end of the month.
Example: 10 GB stored for exactly half a month costs exactly half the monthly rate for 10 GB. Delete a file on day 15 and it stops contributing to your bill immediately.
All features — sharing, Vault, Workspaces, downloads — are included at every storage tier. There are no per-feature charges.
What happens when the free trial ends?
After 15 days, your account becomes read-only. You can still download and view your files, but cannot upload new ones until you add funds to your wallet.
Your files are kept for an additional 30 days after the trial ends. No data is deleted without warning. You receive email reminders before any action is taken.
Can DataDrop read my Vault files?
No. Vault files are encrypted on your device before upload using keys that only you hold. Our servers receive only ciphertext. We have no mechanism to decrypt Vault contents.
The decryption keys are derived from your PIN using PBKDF2, encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and stored in encrypted form. Without your PIN, there is no access — including ours. If you forget your PIN, the recovery phrase you set during Vault setup is the only way to restore access.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts, no annual commitments, and no cancellation fees. You can stop using DataDrop at any time.
During the trial, no payment is required at all. After the trial, billing is month-to-month based on usage. You can delete all your files and your account at any point.
How is sharing different between Files, Vault, and Workspace?
Files are shareable. You can share any file by email or username, set view/download permissions, add expiry dates, or require confirmed receipt before the file auto-deletes.
Vault files are private only — they cannot be shared. The Vault is a personal encrypted space. This is by design.
Workspaces are encrypted shared storage for teams. You invite specific members; only they can access the Workspace files. Each member holds their own encryption key.
Why are there three separate storage types?
Each type serves a different use case and has different security properties:
Files — everyday storage with flexible sharing. Works like Google Drive or Dropbox, but pay-per-use.
Vault — personal private storage. Zero-knowledge encryption means only you can access it. Use it for sensitive documents, personal photos, private records.
Workspace — encrypted collaboration. A shared encrypted space for teams or clients where only invited members have access.
What happens if a payment fails?
If UPI auto-pay fails at month end, your account moves to read-only status. You can still access and download all your files.
You receive email reminders at 30, 60, and 85 days after the missed payment. If the balance remains unpaid after 90 days, files are permanently deleted with final advance notice. All these timelines and reminders happen before any data loss.
